Beatification cause for co-founder of Neocatechumenal Way formally requested

 

 

The Neocatechumenal Way was welcomed into the Archdiocese of Singapore by the late Archbishop Gregory Yong in 1977. Today, there are 9 communities, present in 6 parishes. (Saint Bernadette, Saint Francis of Assisi, Holy Trinity, Saint Anthony, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Our Lady Queen of Peace). 

There are about 300 members, comprising families, adults and young people from all walks of life with different educational, social, and racial backgrounds. 

The Neocatechumenal Way was born in Madrid, Spain, in the early 1960s. The initiators of the Neocatechumenal Way are Francisco (Kiko) Argüello, Carmen Hernández and Fr. Mario Pezzi. The charism of the Neocatechumenal Way is "To form Christian Communities like the Holy Family of Nazareth. That they may live in Humility, Simplicity and Praise and where the other is Christ".
